Guildwatch: A little raid ID problem
Sure, it’s a lot of good items being nabbed from the guild bank there, but how much will those really be worth in the expansion, right? Look on the bright side — you’ll have a bunch of new gear, and that former guildleader will still have a bad reputation.
Downed and recruiting news and the ever-popular drama can be found as usual in this week’s Guildwatch. · Addiction on EU Wildhammer got their bank cleaned out by some guildies who then transferred off to another server, by the names of Skoil, Dubiousmeat and Zonn. Screenshot or it didn’t happen. I’m surprised they left that 6k gold in there, but as our tipster said, they did make it away with a good 25-30,000g worth of stuff anyway. Maybe 6k wasn’t all that much after that. Our

Inscription gets researching recipes in build 8970
In the small patch that was applied to the Beta servers last night, there were a few Inscription tweaks. Of course there were some minor tweaks to various class glyphs, but the most interesting change came in the form of 2 new recipes: Minor Inscription Research and Northrend Inscription Research.
The former creates items that may teach you a new minor glyph, while the latter creates items that may teach you a new major glyph. Minor Inscription Research looks to be a very cheap spell, using the basic Moonglow Ink, while Northrend Inscription Research is a little more expensive, requiring Ink of the Sea and Snowfall Ink, both of which are created with pigments made from milling Northrend herbs. Both abilities also have a 20 hour cooldown, so no spamming them to collect all the glyphs even if you do lay in a massive stockpile of ink and parchment.
It’s sort of like the old spell research for casters from Everquest combined with the alchemy discovery system. Of course, you don’t have to gather rare drops like with research, and in theory, you won’t have to make

Ask a Beta Tester: Mounts, threat meters, and tabards
We’ll jump right into things in today’s Ask a Beta Tester, because destiny waits for no man!
andyjay220 asked…
How have people liked the new threat meter? I have tried PTR but I don’t really understand it as I am used to Omen. As far as I can tell the only information it gives you is “YOU NOW HAVE 100% AGGRO” which isn’t very helpful. I want to see a meter showing how far away from pulling aggro I am so i can gauge my attacking accordingly. Any way someone could explain it to me?
The threat meter’s UI is pretty simplistic. It displays yellow when you’re close to pulling aggro, and red when you’ve done it. It’s accurate, but hard to gauge how close you really are. It shows the percentage in your tooltip… but that’s a strange place for it. It won’t replace things like Omen (when it’s updated for 3.0.2) but its addition will allow Omen and similar mods to be much more accurate.
Of course, for things like 5-man dungeons, you don’t need to the nitty gritty numbers, really.
